Developing a new kind of leader

Traditional leadership development falls short in meeting the needs of today's leaders. The practice of teaching leaders new skills and techniques no longer suffices. The business landscape has become far more complex and challenging and leadership development needs to incorporate new ways of thinking in response to the ever-changing world. People don't just want more, they need more. They must learn to adapt, to continuously grow and develop their own thinking. This has been captured by Robert Kegan (In Over our Heads: the mental demands of modern life) who explores the five levels of human development from child to self-authoring, self-transforming mind of the adult. This needs to be the aspiration for leadership development.

A connected 3-tier system of leadership development

No leaders operate in isolation. This is why we've developed an integrated 3-tier approach which encompasses the individual, the collective and the wider organisation. We use three core tools to support this development in terms of diagnosis, design and delivery: PrimeFocus™, Barrett Values Centre™ and the Leadership Circle™.

Meanwhile our Scaling Talent portfolio has been developed to support a people development approach that accelerates performance.
