Consciously Communicate Programme

All successful managers and leaders have strong self-awareness and awareness of others. This programme supports the development of both of these by introducing participants to the 4 DiSC behavioural styles.

Course Description

As part of this programme, each participant receives a DISC assessment that will uncover their behavioural styles - how they do what they do.

This knowledge of Self and the awareness of the 4 different styles encourages managers and leaders in modifying behaviour to accomplish goals through effective communication with others that may differ from them. They become aware of how they impact others and have the ability to understand others needs to more effectively build working relationships and teams that work.

The 1/2-day programme can be supported by group or individual coaching sessions designed to provide a review of key learnings for each step in the process. The programme can be customised into a full day for greater practice and application. The recommended number of participants per class is 7 - 20 per session, although larger groups can be accommodated with an additional facilitator.

Course Objectives

By the end of this programme, participants will:

  • Describe their own DISC communication style and its major strengths and weaknesses
  • Recognisze the DISC communication style of others and how to bridge to another style
  • Effectively present an idea to a different DISC group and receive developmental feedback on communication skills

Target Audience

The Consciously Communicate Programme is designed for newly-promoted managers as well as experienced managers who want a fresh perspective that will upgrade their communication skills, particularly in today's constantly changing workplace.

The programme is highly interactive and practical with participants being able to practice, reflect and develop their skills in a safe learning environment with developmental feedback and action planning for ongoing development planing.

Deliverables and Outputs

  • An experienced facilitator will facilitate the 1/2 - full day program
  • A DiSC Assessment report for each participant providing personal insights
  • Participants' guides for each module and job aids to support learning transfer to the workplace
  • A minimum 1.5 hour individualised coaching session for each participant to leverage a better understanding of their DiSC assessment
