The Overview

Background

As Altrad continues its successful growth journey, the pace and scale of expansion have naturally stretched resources and time, particularly in training middle managers.

To ensure the next generation of leaders is positioned to thrive, Altrad is investing in accelerating its leadership pipeline, equipping future leaders to drive performance, uphold safety, and lead with purpose across every level of the organisation.

A global industrial services company, operating across energy, resources, and infrastructure, recognised the need to develop its next layer of middle managers into confident, strategic leaders. The organisation wanted managers who could step into leadership roles with clarity, confidence, and the ability to inspire and influence their teams.

The Brief

What The Client Asked For

Primeast’s goal was to create a practical, experiential programme that helped emerging managers move from operational management into leadership. It needed to build confidence, strengthen collaboration across locations, and give participants the tools to apply learning immediately, while fostering an inclusive and growth-focused culture.

The Solution

What We Delivered

Primeast designed the Xcelerator Programme, combining immersive workshops, assessments, coaching, and practical project work:

  • Two 2-day workshops delivered experiential learning on managing self and others, performance and collaboration, better conversations, innovation and problem-solving, influencing others, and driving change.
  • DISC 360 assessments and insight activities to build self-awareness and personal impact.
  • One-to-one coaching sessions and three-way calls with line managers to consolidate learning and support real-world application.
  • CRS-based projects giving participants the chance to apply learning to tangible business challenges, with senior leaders acting as mentors.

The Results

What We Achieved

The programme proved transformational. Participants reported greater self-awareness, stronger leadership confidence, and the ability to lead their teams more effectively. They developed practical skills in communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and driving change, and were able to apply these immediately in their day-to-day work.

To date, 96 leaders have completed the programme, with 15 stepping up into Head of Department roles. This progression highlights the programme’s power to accelerate careers, strengthen leadership pipelines, and deliver measurable organisational impact.

By blending experiential workshops, coaching, and project-based learning, the Xcelerator Programme equips emerging managers with the mindset, skills, and confidence to step into leadership roles. Participants leave ready to drive impact, foster inclusion, and shape the organisation’s future, while also feeling supported, inspired, and prepared to take the next step in their leadership journey.
